1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Lensify website, located at www.lensify.co.za, as well as any orders, purchases or transactions made through the website.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with Lensify’s Privacy Policy, Shipping & Returns Policy, Prescription Policy and any other policy made available on the website.
If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use the website or place an order.
2. About Lensify
Lensify is an online platform that markets and facilitates the online ordering of contact lenses, eye-care products and related goods in South Africa.
Lensify is not an optometry practice and does not itself provide optometric examinations, professional optometric advice, prescriptions, fittings, clinical dispensing or clinical aftercare.
Prescription contact lens orders placed through Lensify are subject to prescription verification, clinical review and dispensing approval by on2Sight Optometrist, a registered optometry practice, before release for courier delivery.
3. Prescription Verification and Dispensing Model
Lensify has partnered with on2Sight Optometrist to support the prescription validation, dispensing approval and lawful fulfilment of prescription contact lens orders placed through the Lensify website.
Lensify provides the website, online ordering system, customer interface, payment facilitation and courier coordination.
on2Sight Optometrist is responsible for the professional optometric and dispensing-related aspects of prescription contact lens orders, including prescription verification, dispensing approval and applicable record-keeping.
Prescription contact lens orders are not released for delivery until the required prescription verification and dispensing approval process has been completed.
The dispensing process is conducted through on2Sight Optometrist’s physical practice, where applicable and as required by law, before approved orders are released for courier delivery.
Nothing on the Lensify website should be interpreted as replacing the need for an eye examination, contact lens fitting, professional advice or follow-up care from a registered optometrist or dispensing practitioner.
4. Eligibility to Use the Website
You may only use this website and place orders if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under South African law.
By using this website or placing an order, you confirm that all information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete.
If you place an order on behalf of another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the prescription and patient information provided relates to the intended wearer of the contact lenses.
Lensify may refuse, cancel or delay an order if it reasonably believes that the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, fraudulent or non-compliant.
5. Products Sold on Lensify
Lensify offers contact lenses, eye-care products and related accessories for sale online.
Prescription contact lens products may only be supplied where all applicable prescription, verification, dispensing and compliance requirements have been met.
All products displayed on the website are subject to availability.
Lensify reserves the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, update product information, correct errors, or remove products from sale at any time.
Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Packaging, branding, design and presentation may vary from time to time due to supplier or manufacturer updates.
Product availability, descriptions and pricing may change without notice, subject to applicable law.
6. Prescription Contact Lens Orders
A valid contact lens prescription is required for all prescription contact lens orders.
The prescription must be current, complete and issued by a suitably qualified practitioner. For Lensify’s ordering process, a prescription must generally be no older than 12 months from the date of the eye examination, unless a shorter validity period is indicated by the prescribing practitioner or applicable law.
By placing an order for prescription contact lenses, you confirm that:
- the prescription information submitted is accurate and complete;
- the prescription belongs to the intended wearer of the lenses;
- the prescription is valid and current;
- the lenses ordered match the prescription, lens type, brand, parameters and fitting requirements provided by your eye-care practitioner;
- you are not ordering lenses based on an expired, altered, incomplete or inaccurate prescription; and
- you authorise Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist to review, verify and process the prescription information for order fulfilment, dispensing approval and lawful record-keeping.
Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may request additional information, a copy of the prescription, practitioner details, patient details, clarification or supporting documentation before approving or fulfilling an order.
Where necessary, Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may contact the prescribing practitioner or practice to verify prescription information.
If prescription information is missing, incomplete, unclear, inconsistent, expired, unverifiable or does not match the products ordered, the order may be delayed, placed on hold, declined, cancelled or refunded.
Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may refuse to supply any prescription product where legal, clinical, professional, safety or compliance requirements are not met.
7. Contact Lens Safety and Customer Responsibilities
Contact lenses are health-related optical devices and must only be used in accordance with a valid prescription and the guidance of an eye-care practitioner.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- you have had a suitable eye examination and contact lens fitting;
- your prescription is valid and appropriate for the lenses ordered;
- you understand how to safely insert, remove, clean, store and wear your lenses;
- you follow the wearing schedule, replacement schedule and care instructions provided by your practitioner and the product manufacturer; and
- you attend follow-up appointments or aftercare consultations as recommended by your practitioner.
You should not order or wear contact lenses if you have been advised not to wear them, if your prescription has expired, or if you are experiencing eye discomfort or symptoms that require professional attention.
If you experience discomfort, redness, irritation, blurred vision, pain, unusual sensitivity, discharge or any other concern while wearing contact lenses, stop wearing the lenses and contact your optometrist or eye-care practitioner promptly.
Lensify does not diagnose, treat or advise on eye conditions through the website.
8. Physical Dispensing, Follow-Up and National Orders
Prescription contact lens orders placed through Lensify are subject to dispensing approval through on2Sight Optometrist before release for courier delivery.
The actual dispensing, where applicable, is conducted through a registered optometrist or dispensing practitioner at a physical practice.
The online order process is limited to facilitating product selection, prescription submission, payment, administrative processing and pre-ordering based on a valid prescription.
Any required confirmation, verification, fitting, adjustment, follow-up or remediation of patient complaints must take place through a registered dispensing practitioner at a physical practice, where required.
If you are not located within on2Sight Optometrist’s area of practice, you may be required to attend or consult with an appropriate registered practitioner at a physical practice closer to your location for confirmation, verification, fitting, follow-up or remediation.
Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may request confirmation that you have access to an appropriate practitioner for any required in-person care, fitting, follow-up or complaint remediation.
Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may delay, decline or cancel an order if the required dispensing, verification, fitting, follow-up or compliance process cannot reasonably be completed.
Courier delivery does not replace the requirement for appropriate prescription verification, dispensing approval, fitting, follow-up care or in-person professional support where required.
9. Order Placement and Acceptance
Submitting an order through the website does not mean the order has been accepted or approved for fulfilment.
An order is only accepted once:
- payment has been received or authorised;
- any required prescription information has been submitted;
- any required prescription verification has been completed;
- dispensing approval has been granted, where applicable;
- stock has been confirmed; and
- the order has been approved for fulfilment.
Lensify may place an order on hold while awaiting prescription information, practitioner verification, stock confirmation, payment confirmation or compliance review.
Lensify reserves the right to refuse, cancel or limit any order for lawful reasons, including suspected fraud, pricing error, stock unavailability, payment issues, misuse of the website, prescription issues, clinical concerns or compliance requirements.
If an order is cancelled after payment has been received, any refund due will be processed in accordance with these Terms and Lensify’s applicable refund policy.
10. Pricing and Payment
All prices displayed on the website are in South African Rand and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
Lensify reserves the right to correct errors in pricing, product descriptions, promotions or other website content at any time.
Payment must be made in full using one of the payment methods made available on the website.
Lensify may suspend or cancel an order if payment is declined, reversed, flagged as suspicious, incomplete or otherwise not successfully processed.
Promotional pricing, discount codes and special offers are subject to the specific terms applicable to those promotions.
11. Medical Aid Information
Lensify may allow customers to provide medical aid information for invoicing, reimbursement support and record-keeping purposes.
By providing medical aid information, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate and complete;
- you are authorised to provide it;
- the information belongs to the relevant patient or member; and
- you understand that reimbursement is subject to your medical aid scheme’s rules, benefits, limits, exclusions and available funds.
Lensify and on2Sight Optometrist do not guarantee that any medical aid scheme will reimburse all or part of an order.
Medical aid information may be used for order processing, invoicing, reimbursement support, customer support, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance and lawful record-keeping.
12. Dispensing Records and Regulatory Record-Keeping
Lensify and/or on2Sight Optometrist may retain records relating to prescription contact lens orders as required for lawful business, clinical, professional, regulatory, tax, accounting and compliance purposes.
Records may include, where applicable:
- the patient’s name and contact details;
- order details;
- prescription information and/or a copy of the prescription;
- the date on which the contact lenses were dispensed or approved for release;
- the name or details of the practitioner involved in the dispensing process;
- medical aid information, where supplied;
- delivery and fulfilment records; and
- customer support, query or complaint records.
Personal information will be processed in accordance with Lensify’s Privacy Policy and applicable South African data protection laws.
13. Delivery of Contact Lens Orders
Delivery is available within South Africa unless otherwise stated.
Prescription contact lens orders are only released for courier delivery after the required prescription verification and dispensing approval process has been completed.
Delivery timelines shown on the website are estimates only and may be affected by prescription verification, dispensing approval, supplier lead times, stock availability, courier delays, weather conditions, public holidays, incorrect delivery details or other factors beyond reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details and ensuring that someone is available to receive the order.
Where available, a tracking reference may be provided once the order has been dispatched.
Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery, subject to applicable consumer protection law.
Lensify is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect information provided by the customer, courier disruptions, failed delivery attempts, unavailable recipients or events beyond Lensify’s reasonable control.
14. Returns, Refunds and Exchanges
Returns, refunds and exchanges are handled in accordance with Lensify’s Shipping & Returns Policy and applicable South African consumer protection law.
Because many products sold through Lensify are health-related, hygiene-sensitive, prescription-specific or specially ordered, returns and refunds may be limited.
Opened, used, tampered with, damaged-after-delivery or specially ordered prescription products may not qualify for return, refund or exchange unless required by law.
If an item is defective, incorrect or damaged on delivery, you must notify Lensify as soon as reasonably possible and provide supporting information reasonably requested, including photographs where applicable.
Approved remedies may include a replacement, exchange, refund or store credit, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Customers should inspect products promptly after delivery and report any issue as soon as possible.
15. Cancellations and Order Changes
Orders may be cancelled or changed before approval, dispensing, supplier ordering or dispatch, subject to operational status.
Once a prescription order has been verified, clinically reviewed, dispensed, specially ordered from a supplier or released for fulfilment, cancellation or changes may no longer be possible.
Any refund or cancellation request will be assessed in line with the nature of the product, order status, supplier status, hygiene requirements and applicable law.
Lensify may cancel an order if prescription requirements are not met, if compliance requirements cannot be satisfied, if stock is unavailable, if payment fails, or if there is a lawful reason to refuse supply.
16. Medical and Professional Disclaimer
Lensify does not provide professional optometric, medical or clinical advice.
All website content is provided for general information only and does not replace an eye examination, diagnosis, prescription, fitting, treatment, follow-up care or advice from a registered optometrist or other qualified eye-care practitioner.
Product information on the website should not be used to self-diagnose, self-prescribe or replace professional advice.
If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, consult your optometrist or eye-care practitioner before placing an order.
If you experience pain, redness, irritation, blurred vision, discomfort or any other eye concern, stop using the product and seek professional advice promptly.
17. User Accounts
If you create an account on the website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity conducted under your account.
Lensify is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your login credentials.
You agree to notify Lensify promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
Lensify may suspend or terminate an account where misuse, fraud, unlawful activity or breach of these Terms is suspected.
18. Acceptable Use of the Website
You may not use the website:
- for any unlawful purpose;

- to interfere with the website’s operation, security or availability;
- to attempt unauthorised access to any system, account or data;
- to misuse the ordering, prescription submission or payment functions; or
- to act in a way that may prejudice Lensify, on2Sight Optometrist, other customers or any third party.
Lensify may restrict, suspend or terminate access to the website if misuse is suspected.

21. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lensify is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the use of the website, delay in fulfilment, inability to use products, courier delays or the purchase of products through the website.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law, including applicable consumer protection rights.
To the extent permitted by law, Lensify’s liability for any direct claim relating to products purchased through the website is limited to the amount paid for the relevant products.
Lensify is not liable for harm, loss or damage arising from the use of contact lenses contrary to a prescription, practitioner advice, manufacturer instructions, wearing schedule, hygiene requirements or these Terms.
22. Promotional Offers
Lensify may run promotional offers, discounts, coupon codes, voucher campaigns, bundle deals, free shipping promotions, limited-time specials or other marketing promotions from time to time.
Promotional offers are subject to availability and may be changed, extended or withdrawn at any time without notice, unless otherwise required by law.
Promotional offers apply only for the period stated and only while stocks last, where applicable.
A promotional offer may apply only to selected products, selected categories, selected customers, selected order values, selected delivery areas or specific periods, as stated in the relevant offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional offers:
- may not be used together with any other promotion, discount, coupon, voucher or special offer;
- may not be exchanged for cash;
- are not transferable; and
- may not be applied retrospectively to completed or previously placed orders.
Where a promotional code is issued, the code must be entered correctly at checkout in order to apply.
Lensify is not obliged to apply any promotional discount after an order has already been submitted or paid for.
If an order placed under a promotional offer is cancelled, refunded, returned in part or changed so that it no longer meets the promotional requirements, Lensify may reverse, recalculate or remove the promotional benefit.
Lensify may withhold, cancel or recover the benefit of any promotional offer where it reasonably believes that the offer has been used fraudulently, abusively, in bad faith or contrary to these Terms.
23. Changes to These Terms
Lensify may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Updates will take effect once published on the website, unless otherwise stated.
It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
Continued use of the website after changes are published means that you accept the updated Terms.
24. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute arising from the use of this website or any transaction concluded through it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
